Presbyopia
It's a part of growing up
Presbyopia is a natural part of growing up. Most don't expect it to come, most don't want it to come, but it's inevitable. Accommodation is the process through which our eyes focus on near and far objects. A part of this process is through the ciliary muscles in the eye pulling on the lens, allowing the lens to thicken and thin to adjust your focus. As we grow up, the lens loses it's elasticity and therefore cannot adjust like it once did. It is for this reason that people will require reading glasses or some form of correction as they age.

Here at Dr. Lee optometry, we can test to see if this process has begun. If you are struggling to see close objects, we can explore options of special computer or progressive glasses, multifocal contact lenses, or even refractive surgery. In our demanding digital world, we can work with you to find the solution that fits your unique challenges!
